For Immediate Release – January 10, 2017
(Halifax, NS) – The 22nd annual Ha!ifax ComedyFest features 30 comedians performing at multiple shows at various venues around the city between April 26 and 29, 2017. The Festival is excited to announce this year’s line-up, featuring Jeremy Hotz, Steve Patterson, and Debra DiGiovanni.
One of the most unique stand-up comics working today, Jeremy Hotz’s quirky, confused observational comedy brings down the house each time he takes the stage. Jeremy appears at the Gala of Laughs on Friday, April 28 at the Spatz Theatre.
Steve Patterson, best known as host of The Debaters on CBC Radio One is back on the Festival stage after a five-year hiatus. Coming off his latest cross-Canada theatre show, This is Not Debatable, and his tour for The Book of Letters I Didn’t Know Where to Send, Steve hosts the All Star Gala on Thursday, April 27 at Casino Nova Scotia, and appears at the Gala of Laughs on Friday, April 28 at the Spatz Theatre.
Debra DiGiovanni, a festival fan favourite, returns to Halifax for the first time since 2013. Living in LA for the past several years has given Debra a new take and audiences will be sure to commiserate with her on life as she sees it. Debra appears at the Opening Gala on Wednesday, April 26 at Casino Nova Scotia, and the Gala of Laughs on Friday, April 28 at the Spatz Theatre.
Hosted by Mark Critch, the line-up for the 2017 edition of the Ha!ifax ComedyFest also includes: Lachlan Patterson, Ryan Bellville, John Wing, Carol Zoccoli, Chantel Marcostica, Charles Haycock, Charlie Demers, Darryl Orr, Derek Seguin, DJ Demers, Eman El-husseini, Erica Sigurdson, Jay Malone, John Beuhler, Keith Pedro, Kyle Brownrigg, Landry, Matt O’Brien, Matt Wright, Mike Delamont, Nigel Grinstead, Ted Morris, JR DeGuzman, Matt Falk and Sterling Scott.
